More of Genevieve

Here are some pictures of our little angel. She is growing up so fast. She is starting to roll over and she loves to be on her tummy for a few minutes at a time and look around. I cannot believe she will be 3 months old in a couple of weeks!
We all love her so much!

Oops... I forgot these....

I forgot to put these pictures in the blog... Oops!

These are of us at the Stampede breakfast. There was an amazing balloon clown there that could make anything!! Victoria asked for a parrot and he made her one that could sit on her shoulder! Naomi wanted a lady bud and we got a turtle for Olivia.
We also got to play at all sorts of stations and then see the new fire truck- the girls loved sitting in the truck!

All of us!

Here is the whole family at the ice cream store. It was a

lot of fun- thanks Granddad!!

Chillin'

Here are our cuties enjoying their icecreams while relaxing on the swing at the ice cream store. Olivia did not understand that when the ice cream gets below the rim of the cone, you start to eat the cone to get to the ice cream. So she started shoving it into her face in order to get to the rest of the ice cream out of the cone. She had a HUGE ring of ice cream all around her mouth, dripping down her chin. It was great!

Ice Cream!!

Granddad came by and insisted that we go out for ice cream!! The kids were thrilled and they REALLY enjoyed their ice creams. We went down to the local ice cream store (it is a little house that had converted their front entrance to a store front) and ordered three cones- 'wet paint', 'leaping lizard' and 'cotton candy' :)
James and I had traditional flavors: banana chocolate and chocolate peanut butter. Delicious!! We had a great time and poor Genevieve watched us for a while and then went to sleep :)
We were also really happy that Uncle Bruce, Aunt Elaine and Lauren could come with us.

Celebrating the Stampede

We had such a fun time at the Stampede breakfast this year. The food was fantastic- pancakes, sausage, eggs and orange juice. We were lucky and got there really early (15 minutes before it was supposed to start- James had helped set up and so the rest of us got there as early as we could) and there was no line up yet. There was a HUGE line up as of 9:00- start time. At 10:30 when we left the line up went around the building- it was atleast 30 minutes long!
Doesn't James look wonderful! The shirt is authentic- it even has pearl snaps!!

Asleep on the floor??!!

None of our other kids have ever done this! James put Genevieve down on the floor and she fell asleep!! I could not believe my eyes and had to take a picture!

Picnic at Police Outpost Provincial Park

We went for a picnic at Police Outpost Provincial Park. It was wonderfully hot and sunny and we had a great time eating watermelon, looking at all the wildflowers, and exploring nature. The girls enjoyed looking at all the fish in the lake and the tent caterpillars.

Isn't this a wonderful picture of Chief Mountain?! It was so calm- and for any of you that have been anywhere near Waterton you know that it is rarely calm, with no wind!

My Black-eyed Susan....

This week we went to visit The Parents down in Cardston while James was at scout camp. The first evening we were there The Parents took the girls to the park just around the corner from their house. Victoria was goofing around on the swings and hit her eye on one of the support posts. She got a black eye!!
One of my favorite wildflowers is the black-eyed susan. So, we were joking that Victoria's new nickname should be 'black-eyed Susan'.
The funny part about it is that James broke his nose at scout camp and has a huge bruise between his eyes- we are expecting that they may be twins soon!

Nutella

Oh, lovely Nutella. There is nothing more fun that watching my children enjoy Nutella on toast!

Goodbye Mimi and Hen

Just before we moved I noticed one of our chickens was rasping when it breathed, but I did not have the time to deal with it. About a week after we moved I went to check on the chickens and I saw two of them sitting on the ground with their eyes closed, heads down and their combs were purple. It was terrible!!

I called around to all the vets and not one of them dealt with chickens- not that I was surprised. I finally found one who knew the dose of antibiotics to give a chicken and another that actually had it in stock. I ran down to the vets, got two syringes of antibiotics (!!!) and gave my chickens shots- I was very uncomfortable doing that, but I did. Not 2 minutes later, with all the kids watching, the first one died. She was the matriarch of our flock and we were devastated. By the end of the day the other one had died too.

We dug a couple of holes under our new apple tree and had a little funeral and buried our chickens. Victoria was quite upset, but Naomi and Olivia really did not understand what was going on.

Now we need to find two more chickens or our last two will not survive the winter (they need more body heat in the coop in the winter).

The last day with her tooth

This picture was taken just a few hours before Victoria lost her front tooth. She was so excited for it to fall out!

Olivia and Genevieve

Olivia has handled having a new little sister very well. She really seems to love her and is very sweet with her. Olivia loves to give her kisses on her head and talk to her. It is wonderful. They are both so cute!!

Genevieve at 2 months old

Here is our beautiful Genevieve. We think she is just simply wonderful :)

Okotoks Parade Day

Here are our beautiful girls celebrating at the Okotoks Parade. It was a lot of fun, and as you can tell the girls enjoyed all the candy (and even ice cream!!) that was handed out. It was a fun parade and we got to enjoy it with the Hillyers!!

Ballet Recital

Victoria wanted to try ballet again this year, but half way through the year she wanted to quit- she was not enjoying it. I told her that she committed to her class year end recital and that she had to finish the year. She knew that as soon as her recital was over she would not have to be in ballet anymore, so as soon as the recital was over she reminded me that she did not have to take ballet again.... So next year we will try gymnastics..... Isn't she beautiful?!

Soccer

Victoria was in soccer again this year. She is very good at soccer and enjoys it. James was her coach again this year- she loves the fact that Daddy is her coach. She really understands the strategy needed to play soccer sucessfully. She is very athletic and has abundant energy :)

Field trip to Fort Calgary

Victoria and her grade one class took a field trip to Fort Calgary. They got to try on a bunch of uniforms and try and build a log house. It was very educational and Victoria learned a lot of what it was like to live on the frontier.
